AR13056 on 18th July 2022

Post by Rob63 »

Some images from last week (finally had time to start processing them)
All captured on the Skywatcher ED120
CaK was at 84mm with 2x barlow using ASI290MM and Lunt B1200 CaK module
WL was at 105mm with 3x barlow using ASI290MM, Badder 2" Herschel wedge and Continuum filter
Ha 120mm with Quark and ASI174MM using Baader 35nm Ha as an internal ERF

Conditions less than ideal, it was clear and sunny all day but pretty windy, seeing was jumping between 1" and 2+ " all morning.

Brilliant.

It's illuminating to see all the various elements in each of the 3 bands, especially when they coincide across all the layers. Wow.

Doesn't mean I know what I'm doing, though!

Indeed you must Alexandra (especially with the Solarscope 100 :D ), your work was one of the main inspirations to get me into Solar Astronomy in the first place.

Thanks Nic,
I was really just testing various aperture masks and barlow combinations but noticed I had three decent views of the same AR.
I like the results and will be trying this again when I get some decent seeing.

Rob.
