Sun in H-Alpha, CaK and Continuum 27th of July 2022
Dear friends,
Nice and sunny from around noon and throughout the afternoon. Did the regular FD's before I went on to shooting the ARs with slightly higher magnification in CaK. I finished the day off with a sequence recording of AR3066 in CaK which I'm hoping to make a time-lapse from. The computer is still chewing through the 1.4TB of data for this. I will post the result later if it turns out ok.
In the meantime here are the still images...

FD image in H-Alpha using a Coronado 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ASI 178mm mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
FD image in CaK using a FLO StellaMira 80mm ED f/10, stopped down to 60mm, Lunt CaK 1200 module and ASI 183mm camera mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
FD image in Continuum using a FLO StellaMira 80mm ED f/10, Baader Cool-Ceramic Safety Herschel Prism Photographic 2", Baader ND OD 1.8, Baader 2" Continuum, Baader 2" UV/IR Cut and ASI 183mm camera mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
AR3062 and 3066 in CaK using a FLO StellaMira 80mm ED f/10, Lunt CaK 1200 module, Coronado CeMax 2x (giving a measured 1.83x and 1465mm) and Player One Mars-M camera mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
AR3067 in CaK using a FLO StellaMira 80mm ED f/10, Lunt CaK 1200 module, Coronado CeMax 2x (giving a measured 1.83x and 1465mm) and Player One Mars-M camera mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
Best regards,
Arne

A great set in both lights, Arne. Hope the animation works out okay.

Excellent Arne! That is a ton of data to slog through for that animation, good luck!

Re: Sun in H-Alpha, CaK and Continuum 27th of July 2022
Thank you very much everyone for all your kind comments! Much appreciated.
Finally finished processing the data for the animation. For some reason the recording cadence varied at a couple of places (the computer was probably slowed down by some background process) causing a slight variation of speed in the resulting time-lapse. Also, the recording was done with the scope mounted on the SolarQuest (AltAz) so you will have to live with some field rotation. Anyway, here's the resulting time-lapse:

Nice Arne. I don’t find the field rotation detracting.
