Point taken though. OTAs without addons are 5 and 4.6kg.

Of course I can't piggyback, not with two scopes of similar length, 'd make a mess at the camera end... :cat
Hi Geoff,

Point taken but I'm always "budget conscious" and build largely from scrap metal.

You have to add the "add-ons" or the [rocket science] maths doesn't work. ;)
You end up with unwanted imbalance torque. Depending entirely on the telescopes' pointing position.
Which leads to motor stalling during slews. And nobody wants that! :D

I ordered one and it is arriving today. Had I known about the ones from FLO being tested by Gary Palmer I would have purchased from there but I've always been very happy with customer service from WSC so hopefully it will be fine. I'm excited to try it out on my ED80 and also I think I can use it to double stack my Lunt....

Just need a clear day now!

Chuckles. Thanks Chris - depending on how the new scope ( yet to arrive ) connects to its allotted space, I might just be tripling up.....Mount loading still gives me spare capacity.

As to metalwork, I'm no handicrafter, I had to do woodwork at school, not metalworking - something to do with being in the cleverer stream! If I have it already it'll have to do..

Imagine a Mak sandwich between two refractors! :D
