Frustrating Monday Morning Session 1st August 2022

Post by Carbon60 »

I wanted to concentrate on hydrogen alpha this morning....full disk and a closer view of AR13068, the main active region on the disk at this time.

After multiple attempts I finally got some images to share. The seeing wasn't great and the haze, wispy clouds and large patches of cumulus scuppered most of my attempts to make multi-pane mosaics for the FD and achieve a sharp close view image of the active region. I was out from 8:15 until 11:00 to capture these two images with everything else ending up in the bin.

First up is the Ha FD in mono and colour, taken on my Lunt 60 with a 2.5x PM and Basler acA2440-75 um:

Next is the closer view of AR13068 taken on my 150mm, double stacked, at f34 with a 2.5 x PM and Basler acA1920-155 um:

This was a bit soft and so I've probably over processed it to try to bring out the details, such as they are.

It's so frustrating when the conditions don't cooperate.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

These still look nice Stu. They also show how calm the Sun is. Despite a number of active regions none are exceptionally strong though AR13068 is certainly the best.

Thanks for sharing.

Ah, I have found your frustrations of the day, they came out really nice though, even if it was a pain to get them and a very long session :bow :hamster:
Well the bonus was, at least you weren't at work
