Sun in 3 colours - my data June 22nd 2022 again

Post by Radon86 »

Hi all !,

I have been working on my masks and selection to get a formula to get the disc and proms isolated from the background. I found I can get the 3 colours scheme from just two masks:
1) Mask to show the sky background only
2) Mask to show disc only (exclude spicule and proms)

I used in a reasonably easy layers format and then got these 4 versions. I think I can get better colours, will need to work on this if necessary.
I thought it was just an interesting way to look at our images.
Original data from my imaging on 22nd June 2022 (not GreatAttractor's data actually) !

Hello Alexandra,
Nice to know I could try selling my work !
I think my approach allows me to change the appearance of the sun image. I can easily an incorporate inverted Disc, and process the proms differently. I had a lot of problems understanding masks and alpha channels. I looked at Mark Townley website with the tutorials by the American, Ken Crawford.

I think I have reached adequate understanding, and I can do what I Iike with masking and alpha-channels almost.

Have you done youtube or other imaging tutorials at all ?

Thanks

Magnus
