First light with the Quark

Post by HAL »

Here is first light on my Quark/Skywatcher 80ED combination.

Autostakkert seemed to manage to remove the Newton rings but I will still get the tilt adaptor.

Here is the same region with my 60 mm Lunt. The resolution of the Quark image is much better but it doesn't seem to show the range of features as well as the Lunt, particularly the plages which aren't really visible at all in the Quark image. I'm assuming it's a matter of getting the tuning right.

I would welcome any comments/feedback. Thanks to everyone who has advised me on the new set-up over the last couple of weeks.
