Hi,
I have a few more pics taken with a solar newton in Ha.
I need to manage the newton rings with a tilt adapter.

Beautiful fine details. Pity about the rings, but you’ll defeat these sure enough.

Hi Alex,

outstanding images - St. Veran is a great place for high res imaging as soon as the weather cooperates.

Is this the mirror with direct ERF coating, or your solution from last year with the ERF in front of the secondary?

Good luck for you and all others for your second week in St. Veran!

Best wishes,
Laura

Thank you. Not only the weather must cooperate, but the seeing also.
Today, the seeing was good.

It is a solution similar to last year, with filters used as ERF. I'm still in testing process.

Thank you, Alex. Just curious: how do accommodations work at St.Veran ? Do you stay there for few days or just for the day ?

The standard way is to build a team, fill a form explaining what your observation program is and what your preferred week is.
Then a program committee attribute the weeks to the different teams.

To stay for 1 or several days, you can contact a team responsible and ask to join his team as temporary participant. The team leader may not accept.

You can also join the observatory during the day as a visitor. By foot, 11 km / +1000m climb from the village.

There is also the possibility to book for one night as a tourist (come by foot) for a discovery session. Probably not what you want as experienced observer.

There are rules (No car unless you are part of a team, etc.)
