forum very slow

Post by Montana »

Is it just me or is the forum very slow, sometimes it takes minutes to open one topic and I have a few tabs on the go at once to try and save time?

I must support Alexandra here.

Loading the forum lasts about 1-3 minutes, sometimes my browser tells me the site is not available...

And no.. Alexandra and I do not live in the same house...

I RECOMMEND DISCONNECTING ALL OTTHER NET CONECTED ITEMS (INCL. TV'S) TO SEE IF THEY ARE SLOWING-DOWN THE NET CONNECTION YOU ARE EXPERIENCING FOR SOLARCHAT.

BEST WISHES

I still find that it comes in spells. Sometimes it is fast then all of a sudden it can take ages for each page to load, then I get a not available. Then if I go away and do something else for 5 minutes it suddenly becomes fast again. As it is so variable I cannot tie the problem down to show Stephen, it is very frustrating.

If yours is continual and persistent perhaps a chat with Stephen may help solve the issue.

A BIT LIKE A RUNNING WATER-TAP, THE INTERNET-SPEED CAN VARY - DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF USERS ON ANY SERVER-SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME, WHERE THE SLOW-DOWN EFFECT WILL CONTINUE WHEN SO MANY USERS ARE ON AT THE SAME TIME..

THAT APPLIES WHETHER IN THE SAME HOUSE/LOCATION, OR USING THE SAME SERVER OF THE INTERNET CONNECTION SUPPLIER.

DO CHECK THE BROADBAND SPEEDS AVAILABLE FOR THE TROUBLED CONNECTION REGULARLY AND THEN IF YOU ARE SUFFERING FROM REGULAR SLOW SPEEDS - TAKE IT UP WITH YOUR SERVICE-SUPPLIER.

ALSO CHECK YOUR C0NTRACT DETAILS TO VERIFY IF YOU ARE PAYING FOR SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT GETTING.

COULD EVEN BE A SIMPLE LINE=FAULT IN-HOUSE OR OUTSIDE, WHERE FIBRE-OPTIC CONNECTIONS MAY NOT SUFFER THE SAME SNAG.

AS FOR MOBILE-INTERNET USE, DIFFERENT PROBLEMS WILL LIKELY BE A CAUSE...

GOOD LUCK
TERRY
