Re: RMO chasers Perseids 2022 ...
Hi,
Well here are the results for North America.
While the two stations in Mexico had no big changes over the past days the station in the USA registered a steady increase until getting 137 impacts on 09:00 hours UTC which in this case was 03:00 am local time in Roswell, New Mexico.
The Mexicans had the peak at 06:00 hours UTC which is 01:00 am local time.

Great data!!
We watched for meteors between 21-22:30 UTC on Friday (12th) saw nothing. The hubby saw one very faint one.
Also 20:30-21:30 UTC on the 13th and we saw a cracking fireball, it was quite something. I also saw one very faint one.

Hi Stu,
That is a nice record and very clear uptick from the Perseids. I am starting to doubt about my system after seeing the results but no idea of what could have gone wrong.
Today I caught more then the day before yesterday and yesterday. Look at the today's graph.

Diagnostics can be a challenge sometimes. Good luck with that.

Re: RMO chasers Perseids 2022 ...
Here are my updates:
Out of interest I've plotted the 'duration' of each radio eco as a function of time, and this shows a clear trend towards longer lasting trails during the Perseids, probably indicative of larger pieces of space debris entering our atmosphere during the storm. Indeed, the Perseids are noted for occasional fireballs.

Re: RMO chasers Perseids 2022 ...
...and trundling in over the hills and valleys of Wales comes my contribution for the 2022 Perseids.
Two peaks on the 13th Aug evident, at 03-04UT and 07-08UT. Two further highs on the 14th around midday 12-13UT and twelve hours later at 00-01 UT on the 15th.
Photos of the screen show some of the more "interesting" ping, including the return at 11.02UT on the 14th (DSCF 1684) which actually overloaded the system and generated an "acquisition fault". Fortunately, we were watching the event on the waterfall as it locked up so were able to restart with a minimum of data loss. As a result of restarting, there is no data from 00.00UT til around 11.05UT on the 14th and the heatmap is actually a composite of the two sessions spliced together.
Regards to all,
Les

Re: RMO chasers Perseids 2022 ...
Nice strong 'pings' there, Les. Pity about the overload and loss of data, but at least you caught it quickly. Something similar happened to my setup and I lost the whole of the 16th.

Re: RMO chasers Perseids 2022 ...
Here's my record through the Perseids. As mentioned, previously, I lost some data on the 16th/17th when my computer decided to stop recording
Thanks for looking.
