Animation of SW Limb 8/12/2022
Off on vacation again so will be slowly catching up on some processing from last week. I do have my scope with me but only for some quick views to keep track of those filaments on the SW as they approach the limb. This is 45 minutes in real time during some excellent seeing as seen in the sharpness of the spicules on the limb. The most fascinating action I saw is a small plasma bomb ripping through the bottom of the largest prom on the limb at the very end of the animation. I have seen plumes travel vertically through a quiescent prom but this is the first time I have seen one go horizontally. There was a little bit of flaring in AR3079 as well. Nice work, Warren. Looking closely, there’s lots going on in your animation.

Re: Animation of SW Limb 8/12/2022
Thanks all! I cropped that prom area and blew it up a little and slowed down the animation to get a better feel of that "plasma bomb" ripping that prom apart.

It’s like ball lightning ripping through that prominence And like lightning it’s plasma!!
This is much better seen blown up and slown down. That’s a rare and incredible capture!!!

Superb animation Warren
Lots going on at many scales...from small to large features and the plasma bomb is incredible. Well done assembling the animation.
