A variety from Aug 20

Post by gabrieli »

Since conditions were somewhat uncomfortable this session, I had a short session sitting in the shade of my house most of the time while my LS60 basked in the sunlight. I had not planned this session but I noticed a curious, ring shaped AR on the western limb and that prodded me to set up. I used only my LS60 for all these images today but, if conditions are better next day, I'll make use of my larger optics and hopefully both the large filament and ring structure will still be there. The LS60MT was double stacked with a front mounted LS60F for these images with a 2.3X Barlow on an ASI1600 camera

Very nice detail!! The inverted images really show nice relief. Nice depth! That filament looks circular with the walls of a great circular plasma crater or walled plain. Is that an elongated central peak I see!?? ;-)

Superb shots Lou...well done :bow

That circular filament caught my attention too...I don't think I've seen the likes of that before.

Hi Lou,
Superb imaging job here! There is a 3D effect I see. Any chance of you showing the Tone curve adjustment you did in ImPPG ? I find it a bit tricky still to do the inverted image format.

Thanks!

Magnus
