Geomagnetic Activity 17th-22nd Aug 2022

Post by Carbon60 »

We've had almost a week of geomagnetic activity arising from passing CMEs, fast flowing solar wind and erratic interplanetary magnetic fields.

Here are my data from 17th-22nd August. Things started off well with a G2 storm, followed by a G1 storm and finally a flurry of geomagnetic unrest events not quite reaching storm level status.

It looks like things have quietened down for now.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Good record Stu, I was on 'lookout' from the dark(ish) skies of my parents for the event on the 17th but didn't see anything visually or on camera - too far south me thinks...

There has been some quite large storms recently, I hope they keep going into winter and we have some clear skies :hamster:
