Sept 8th, 2022
Hi All,
Just wanted to share a few captures from today. This was my first attempt at imaging with the ASI174MM. I must say, it was very nice to have integration with the mount via firecapture and feature tracking. There are a few alignment artifacts though that may be related. These are taken with a Quark+Lunt 40mm double stack in a 127mm/1200 doublet with a 2-inch 35nm H-alpha filter as ERF. Hope you enjoy.
Best,
Derek

Re: Sept 8th, 2022
Fantastic! You could have cropped the second and the third one, as Christian suggested.
What are your color settings? I like them very much.

Re: Sept 8th, 2022
Thanks Christian. These are cropped because my polar alignment was not great. Not sure what is causing the horizontal line in the bottom left. I don't see it in the first image where I did not use guiding but do see it in most others. I will try to reprocess a few and see if anything changes.christian viladrich wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 6:52 am Excellent Derek, and very nicely processed !

Re: Sept 8th, 2022
I was able to fix the artifact. There is a setting in the autostakkert "advanced" menu called "Detect abrupt horizontal and vertical artifacts" that did the trick. Now, I am quite happy with these.Oak wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 11:14 amThanks Christian. These are cropped because my polar alignment was not great.
