Large prom in Ha & CaK 220914

Post by Alun_H »

Using the 90mm f/10 achromat with PST mod module (100mm Lunt ERF up front) and then the Lunt Cak B1200 diagonal and QHY5III 178M to image the large prominence on the south east limb today (images orientated for viewing). With the PST mod I had to capture two panes for the prom and the same again for the limb detail due to keeping within the sweet spot as I wanted to capture the same area as covered in the CaK image. All stacked in Autostakkert,Photoshop CS2 for stitching the Ha panes together then using layers to combine the proms and limb images, then into Astrosurface for wavelet treatment.

Thank you for the kind comments guys.

In regards my colouring the limb and leaving the proms in greyscale,I use the selection tool in Photoshop and draw round the edges and use modify to
expand or contract the "marching ants" to fit then colourize.

Beautiful detail, especially in the Ca-K wavelength. Thank you for sharing.
