Sunset-September 15th

Post by MapleRidge »

Hi everyone...

I was driving home last night and was caught off-guard by the view of the sunset. Haze and high altitude smoke dimmed the sun and as it sank through the clouds they gave the appearance of cloud bands on the disk...looked like an super Jupiter gas giant shown in artist renderings of exoplanets. I was able to stop at a hill top and get a few pics before it disappeared into thicker clouds.

Clouds and rain today. I hope for sun on the weekend to be able to host the Peterborough Astronomical Association for a solar observing session.

What a beautiful sight, to just stop and enjoy the moment must have been wonderful. It does look just like a huge Jupiter :hamster:

I hope the astronomical meeting went ok
