September 17th Session
Good day everyone...
Saturday morning was the dreariest looking start of a day, even through the weather forecasts all called for it to break up mid morning and offer some sun. The bleak looking weather resulted in no attendance from the Peterborough club members...most had an hour plus drive and didn't venture out. As it was, it took me two hours to manage to get the FD and closeups as I waited out clouds between captures
I did a set of FD images in Ha as well as the main AR's and proms. Visually, the views through the LS80T DS scope were magnificent, and the WL visuals on a little 72mm William Optics scope I had setup for the visits showed a lot of detail too.
The FD images were throught he LS80T/LS75FHa/B1800Ha solar scope with a 1.6x barlow and ASI1600MM camera: I tried for higher resolution images of the AR's using the Orion EON OTA fitted with my home brew DS (pair of Lunt DSII etalons), with the B1800Ha blocker, 1.3x barlow and the ASI290MM camera. These images are mosaics of many separate captures: I used the same setup to image the proms, but dropped the barlow to keep exposures shorter. The prom on the SW limb was the best of the lot, but the small fila-proms were very nice too: That is all from Saturday. We had rain most of the day today and to be the same tomorrow too...maybe back to clear skies on Tuesday if all goes well.

Cracking images, Brian. Well worth the wait, but such a pity the morning didn’t work out as planned with your visitors.

Re: September 17th Session
That is so disappointing that no one turned up sounds like my last outreach event
They could have seen something if they were patient as you have some excellent images, well done for the patience
