Large prom and Full disks from Sept 24

Post by gabrieli »

For once, threatening clouds stayed away from the sun until early afternoon after I was finished imaging.
I used 2 scopes: a 102mm ES apo with a Quark Combo on a 3X Telecentric, and a 60 mm Lunt 60MT with a LS60F on the front. I attached strips of wood around the lens hood of the 102mm to allow the 102mm scope to use the same 135mm ERF as my 127 mm Stellarvue scope. Seeing was better than usual with the 102mm scope producing very detailed images of the large prom.

Hello Lou,

Did you manage to capture enough data for an animation of the prom at all ?

Thanks
Magnus

Thank you to all the viewers and commenters.

Hi Magnus

Unfortunately, I didn't record data long enough for an effective video. The part of the session using the ES102 for the prom was cut short by clouds but I actually never think of animations.
