Image re-edit of AR13105-07 from 9-24-22

Post by DeepSolar64 »

While looking at Pedro Re's magnificent images of AR13105-07 I noticed that even though his is much sharper and has better color balance and contrast I could still see many of the features in my image that shows in his which let's me know I am heading in the right direction. So I went back into GIMP to do a bit of re-editing to see if I could bring out any more detail and make the features stand out a little better. This is my result.

Thanks Pedro for the inspiration!

James

I think this is one of your best surface shots James, you should be very proud :bow
It looks like you have some nice even surface features. The horseshoe prom is lovely.

Thank you Alexandra. And the plage actually stands out! It lacks real sharpness though because the seeing was poor. It might have been a bit better if it would have been a stacked image instead of a single frame capture. I need to learn how to stack in ASTRO IIDC! That's a near-future goal! Stacking may have helped me a bit with the seeing and of course lowers noise in the finished image.
