September 24 sun and large prom

Post by EricF »

Out just after lunch - that's the way the day went. temperature wasn't bad, under 20C, seeing didn't seem to terrible, touch of haze.

Saw a couple of large proms take off in the last day or so on the GONG site, and saw the beginnings of something this morning so had a look.

8mS exposure to bring out the prom
disc was way overexposed, so adjusted the curves to bring it down to zero.

Sorry - first two frames are 3mS, not 850 uS.

Wow, I am impressed.

I missed it.. weather was too bad...

But... ZWO claims with the IMX991 to see stars through the clouds. Maybe it's time to invest about 25.000 € for a camera...
