9-30-22 Daystar-PST DS and Continuum with nice limb activity

Post by torsinadoc »

I imaged late morning because of chores but seeing held up. I really like AR 3313. The right edge of the spot is pretty interesting when comparing photosphere and chromosphere. I was able to capture the eastern limb activity. The left was 1653 UT and right was 1658 UT.

Alan,
These are beautiful even in monochrome. Every image is superbly done! You caught a flare in action I think and those filaments are so detailed. And what is that area to the left of the spot? And I see granules in that first image!

Hi Alan,

Fantastic eruption capture! Very impressive and perfectly 3-D rendering. I never was so lucky with eruption capture.

And your DS setup is a solid performer, close to perfection. The only advice for DS pictures postprocessing is: use a bit more contrast increasing of a middle spatial frequencies. Then the pictures will have even more pronounced relief.

Please, show us your H-a DS setup in a flesh.

Thanks. Ill take some images. I use either my T3Z or T4 Z depending on the scope. The TZ4 doesn't have enough back focus (220mm) to focus on the camera without adjusting the main focuser a few mm. If I remember correctly there is some give (maybe 10mm)
