Re: my first SHG stack - caK yippe
Hey, Thumbs up from me. You gotta start somewhere. I see CaK proms!!
The SHG has incredible potential. You can image practically any visible spectral line.
Congratulations on your first CaK double frame stack.
James

You can image some non-visible lines as well (e.g. in the infrared).DeepSolar64 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 07, 2022 4:40 am The SHG has incredible potential. You can image practically any visible spectral line.

Re: my first SHG stack - caK yippe
I guess it's possible to go a bit further into the UV than Ca-K but I don't think much more. The sensitivity of the CMOS cameras starts to drop off quite rapidly. Even glass begins to get less transparent. On the other hand, the cameras are quite sensitive in the IR.

The atmosphere blocks extreme short wavelength UV light as well.
