Fall Colours

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

We had a late start to the traditional onset of the colour change in the deciduous tree leaves here, but after a series of frosty nights two weeks ago the change set in quickly. I am seeing much more vibrant colours this season...more crimson reds and oranges in the maple trees which adds to the dynamic beauty of the landscape.

We have also had a few late afternoon storms that produced some beautiful rainbow as well. The rainbow for the evening of September 27th starts the show:

Last weekend was the Canadian Thanksgiving, and the mix of sun and cloud allowed me to get some images during the peak of the colour display around my home and the sugar bush:

A second late day storm rolled through on October 13th and it produced a beautiful rainbow and the late day sun lit up he Elm tree behind the observatories. The storm cloud was caught a little later above the neighbors woodlot:

The final image was taken on my way into work on October 15th:

Heavy rains and strong winds through the day have blown a lot of the leaves off the trees now, so the I was glad to catch these at their prime.

I hope you all enjoy these as much as I did ;)

WOW!!  and I thought ours were good this year :bow :hamster: these are superb, especially the blue and red together. When we drove home from Lyme Regis the colours were lovely here, mostly yellow of the Field Maples. It is very early this year as usually the colour starts in November.

Hi Brian,

Awesome images of the Season change. My favorite is the third image of the lonely Maple tree.

Here in my area last year we had two seasons which were Sun and Shadow. This year it was better with 3 seasons which were Sun, Shadow and Clouds

Alexandra, Rainer, Kevin, and Aaron...

Thanks for all of your support an comments on the fall colour selections :bow

Rainer, we had those 3 seasons today...alternating over 30 minute intervals

Alexandra, interesting how your season started early and ours was later than usual.

Aaron, I hope that the 'tour' is well received at your dinner table.

You live in a very beautiful area Brian. Your colors so far exceed what we have had here.

I love trees. They are among the most beautiful living things on Earth.

Thanks James :bow

Mother Nature has a way of treating us to some awesome sights and quite variable too.

Aaron, I would think you should get some nice fall colours in Wisconsin too. Similar climate zone as S. Ontario.
