Sunlit, Jupiter, Io, Europa, Ganymede, the almost entire happy family :-)

Post by H-Alpha »

Hi all,

Yesterday the 3 out of 4 Galilean satellites were close to Jupiter, so this was an opportunity I was looking for during the last months.
The seeing was medium/good, so the result was not of top level, but I am happy I now have the three of them with Jupiter at Hi-Res.
I used the colour camera ASI 462, because in mono RGB capture, satellites are a nightmare and many days of processing. I did not alter the brightness of satellites.
Hope you like it.
I am working on an animation of them. If the result is good, I will post it here as well.

Best wishes,
Alexandros

Alexandros,
Jupiter in itself is incredible but the fact that you have captured albedo markings on the three satellites is amazing. Even on Europa, the smallest of the four. You are among the best planetary imagers I know of and an excellent solar imager too!

Truly outstanding work.
