One object with three cameras and something more. 27.10.

Post by pupak »

The weather today favored experiments, so I tried. :)
Focus 4.8m and 9.6 with IMX 432 (s2.jpg).
I compared Baader TZ4x and TV4x PMT. I personally don't see a difference using the AR150/F8 and Quark combo.

Wow. The '432 camera is very nice with the long focal length.

2, 4 & 6 are all much sharper to my eyes on my 28" monitor.

While 1, 3 & 5 look as if they are pushed beyond the seeing conditions.

Just my personal opinion. I can't even imagine being able to reproduce any of them myself.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'm still looking for the optimal setup for the sun detail given my local conditions. It is a complex and costly process. The IMX432 camera is a miracle that can handle a focus of almost 10m. She is amazing. The Mak 7" doesn't seem to be well usable in the sun, so I'm still looking for an achromat 180-200/F6-15 in vain.

The care you put into processing prominences is clear, especially in the last image with some beautiful tones.
I share your experience with your 7 inch.

I find it hard to understand how my two 6 inch refractors can produce good images and, in the same conditions, with some exceptions, using a 7 inch Mak (one little inch more in aperture ), the image becomes harder to manage or disappointing. Let me know if you find a 180 mm achromat that works well.

Lou

The Mak 7" is really a big disappointment. The 150AR beats it in every way.
The AR180-200 is out of the question for me just yet. Those who have it will not sell it and wait months for a new lens.

Thank you very much for this thread, because i am looking for to buy TV PM 4x in future for planetary, so i can use it also for solar rather than buying Baader TZ4x.
