Partial eclipse Oct.25 max phase 0.7 Ha Ca K
Hi all
We were lucky here in Moscow with clear skies on the day of the eclipse. Almost clear, just one small light cloud during the eclipse between me and the Sun... Curiously, at a certain point, closer to the maximum phase, the SSM dropped to zero and then recovered accordingly, everything is on the graph.
I used Lunt LS80MT DS for FD, taking a 15sec shot every minute for animation and the 120mm achro for Ca K sometimes in between. Imaging in Ha with 174 camera in prime focus was undersampled so I stacked with drizzle 1.5 to obtain more details. Aimed to take all details from the single exposure, the same granulation, I tinkered a lot with the proms in Ca, removing then HDR artifacts around the limb.
regards
Leo

These are great Leo. A very large part of the sun is eclipsed. Excellent captures.

Re: Partial eclipse Oct.25 max phase 0.7 Ha Ca K
Many thanks for the SPOD!
Alexandra, to pop up proms I used Photomatix HDR software but than it's necessary to clean carefully around the disk from gradient artifacts in Photoshop. The filter is just a stock Lunt CaK 1800.
I found the closeup of AR3126 in Ca from 1Tb data captured and also want to share another belated Ca image of supergranulation network, October 16. In purple
thanks for looking

Congratulations, Leonid! The close-ups are excellent, but the purple sun sickle is beyond praise.

Wonderfull shots Leo ! The resolution on the Ca K image is quite good.
BWT, the SSM expects a solar disk of 0.5°, soo the data are irrelevant in a solar eclipse.

Re: Partial eclipse Oct.25 max phase 0.7 Ha Ca K
Leo,
Russia was the place to be for the eclipse. The crescent sun is beautiful in all your images and the CaK proms on the limb stand out well. I think it's the best I have ever seen them using a Lunt module. The Ha image is really nice too!! All you needed to complete the set was a continuum image.
The earlier high resolution CaK closeups look really nice too!
Congratulations on the SPOD!!
James
