I only had 2 jobs today (Nov 3)
I thought the only highlight of my day was going to be to replace my furnace vent motor/fan (for exhaust) since my old one would sometimes start up with a brief squeeking noise (bearings). That went well and took me only about 15 minutes and saved me from 350 to 475 dollars in labour costs. The installation quotes were unbelievable.
Most of this day was overcast but around 3:20 pm local time, I noticed sunlight on my closed curtains. When I peeked outside, I saw that the sun was out, although in a slightly hazy sky and about an hour before it would go behind my backyard neighbour's house [W}. I checked SOHO for any worthwhile solar features and saw this large spike prom which made me quickly set up my 127 Stellarvue + Quark (about 10 minutes). I was happy to see that the image quality seemed optimistic. I recorded 10 files and packed up. The best file was obvious and was used for the image below.

Fantastic.
I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Hey there! I'm new to this forum, but I just had to reply to your post. It's awesome that you were able to replace your furnace vent motor/fan all by yourself and save a ton of money on labour costs! That's definitely a win in my book. I'm not too familiar with SOHO, but it sounds like you were able to capture some pretty cool solar features with your 127 Stellarvue + Quark setup. That's sick!
