Animation of the NE Limb 11/3/2022

Post by rigel123 »

Another nice area to work with today under great seeing and transparency. That makes animations so much easier to work with! There are some surge proms, some very faint coronal rain, a floating prom and a fairly active quiescent prom in this animation that is rotated 90 degrees clockwise for viewing and represents 1 hour in real time. Lunt LS60T DS, ASI174MM and Meade 3X TeleXtender (It's a big file so be patient)

Superb.

I think I could have imaged this with my Quark and 70mm refractor if the conditions were right.
How low is the sun where you are Warren?

Thanks all for the comments, so glad folks enjoy these! Magnus, I am at 39 degrees latitude and I estimate the sun was at about 25 degrees when I started this capture at 14:22 UTC but I’ll try to remember to check this morning when I am out.

Well I was way off, it’s only 15 degrees above the horizon, but getting seeing of 1.5 at the moment, and at times below 1
