November 6 2022 SUNocular Obs and GONG WLAI image.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

My very brief 8x32 Lunt SUNocular view was around 15:15 UTC. The skies are almost overcast with a few small gaps. The temperature is 68F ( 20C ). Rain moved back in about 15 minutes later.

The NE quadrant shows three very easy spots. Two close together ones belong to AR13141 lying side by side. NNW of these two spots lies an easy single spot belonging to AR13140. I tried for a smaller spot just east of the CLM but could not see it. A steadier view might have made it possible. Maybe... AR13135 in the NW quadrant is also easily seen as a single spot. I could see no faculae to any of these systems.

The only spot shown on images in the SW quadrant is far too small to see at 8x. Nothing is seen in the SE quadrant.

James

Thanks James, it is surprising what small a gap you can get a decent glimpse in with the Sunoculars, they work even through a little cloud :)

The SUNoculars work surprisingly well. Those NE quad BIG spots are easy. Any bigger and you could hint structure in them!!
