Calcium sun November 10, 2022

Post by ffellah »

Hello all: this morning a very quick disk before work. Not sure if I see something erupting out of AR3141, it almost seems like a plume. You guys tell me what you see.

Nice shots Franco, plumes aren't uncommon in Ca.

Great images, Franco. It’s a highly dynamic region with further emerging sunspots. Maybe this is what you’re seeing.

Fantastic captures Franco. I was just reading about this emerging spot on Spaceweather.com
Such a thrill to catch something when it's evolving and we're not entirely sure what it is. Gets the brain working!

Franco,
It does look like ejecta coming from the spot but the SDO data I saved that day points to a penumbral protuberance on the NE side of the spot, not ejecta or a filament.

Check out the below comparisons.

Hi all...

If you check SpaceWeather there is a story about this AR and an explanation of how this feature has evolved. They are describing as a sunspot within a sunspot, rather than any type of ejecta

https://www.spaceweather.com/

Good to see you caught it and got us thinking ;)
