Ha Disk November 19 2022

Post by highqe »

Today's H-alpha sun. Seeing was not great, due convective cloud that is fairly typical of my neck of the woods (Sydney)
this time of year.

Thanks. Looks like I'll be retiring my 9Mp Point Grey/FLIR camera due the new QHY533m having a square format 1" sensor, almost double the frame rate, with no read-out artifacts, that you typically get with brighter objects and a CCD (similar to blooming). The cooled sensor is also a plus. The PGR would typically heat up to well over 40C. The QHY533m comfortably sits at zero, to -5C depending on the ambient temperature.

Superb picture.

I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.
