November 23 2022 Observations. More Sunny-Oculars!

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Today I did not have time to set up a scope even though it's clear and warm outside. I had to go get new tires put on my car. So today the little Lunt 8x32 WL SUNoculars come into play again. At 17:15 UTC I can see two easy spots that are associated with AR13149 now in the NW quadrant of the Sun. A very easy spot is seen in the SW quadrant that belongs to AR13147. ESE of AR13147 lies two visible but more difficult spots that are associated with AR13151. Also a surprisingly easy patch of faculae is visible in the NE quadrant near the limb! The temperature is 60F ( 15.5C ) outside.

Hopefully tomorrow weather and events will allow me to use my scopes.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

James

Thanks James, seeing faculae with the Sunoculars needs a very steady hand and clear seeing! hopefully something new and big coming :) or decaying :)

Unfortunately James,
My Solar Spotting Scope can't see through total cloud cover here at present,
so just relying on satellite imagery and looking at Solarchatters images too.

Cheers
Terry

Alexandra,
This patch of faculae was surprisingly easy to see, even with a little bit of wiggles.

Stuart,
Handy they are. Very versatile and portable.

Good luck on getting you a set, Maurits.

Terry,
I am glad to see you trying with the solar spotting scope. My SUNoculars cannot see through total cloud cover either but they do well in thin areas of cloud and cloud gaps.

Thanks and You are welcome, Aaron. Pet Titus for me!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

James

Nice report James thanks, I think the small image you include in the post replicates well the view through the sunoculars.

That’s the idea of using the small image. It generally approximates the view through the 8x32 binos. Thanks and You are welcome.
