Today around 18:00 UTC I got a couple of views in using the white light 8x32 Lunt SUNoculars through thin clouds. The sky is completely overcast but there are some very thin areas in the cloud cover which is allowing brief views of our star. During the first view I easily see three spots associated with the new AR13135 in the SE quad. The westernmost spot is large and can be seen to be ovalish in shape. The spot associated with the new AR13156 can be seen in the NE quadrant. A few minutes later I got a larger and thinner area of cloud which allowed me to see two spots that are associated with AR13155 just across the CLM in the NW quadrant. These are small but not really difficult to see. Steadying my arms holding the binos against the bed of my wife's truck I was able to get a spot with considerable difficulty close to the NE limb. This is a new one! I put the binos down and then braced my arms and found it again just to make sure! This one is labeled as AR13157 on the SWL images. The temperature was a warm 62F ( 16.6C )
So that is three numbered regions in the northern hemisphere and one in the southern hemisphere. Now who needs a telescope!
I also am attaching my weekly GONG Ha rotation gif to recap the last week.
Have Fun!
James

Re: 12-3-22 SUNoculars and GONG Weely Rotation.
Alexandra,
Lately they have been a must in this poor weather. I don't think they will save me today though with all this rain coming down.
I am glad you liked the GONG animation.
Have a wonderful and safe workday.

Thanks James! Clearer skies allegedly returning here, so fingers crossed I get to use the sunoculars a bit...

Good luck Mark. Rain and overcast skies here plus my wife had surgery on her sinuses. She's home and so far doing ok.
