Bright streaks in Firecapture !

Post by Radon86 »

Hi All,
Has anyone encountered the "flashing line or lightning" appearance of the live image view of Firecapture 2.7 (latest version). It looks like lightning !

Here is one example, not all of them look like this.
Does anyone know the cause ? It does not seem to happen in SharpCap usually. Changing the USB3.0 cable may be the answer.

Thanks guys!

Magnus

I am using the latest Firecapture but have not witnessed this effect.

I'd suggest posting to the FireCapture group if the USB cable change doesn't solve it

Yes. I have had this issue occasionally. It’s unpredictable, and I have no idea what causes it.

Whist using SharpCap with no apparent problems, the cable might be the snag, but can be proved by reinstallation of Firecapture...

Thanks Terry, Brian and David,

I will try the 1) reinstalling Firecapture and looking at my Firecapture settings and 2) use a different USB 3.0 cable.
It could be my second hand laptop, but Sharpcap does not bring this problem usually.

It may have to wait until the Spring - March/April, as the sun is too low and I would have to setup in the garden when the sun is low.

Thanks.

Happy New Year/2023 !!

Magnus
