Fast flowing solar wind with fluctuating southerly directed magnetism created, in recent days, geomagnetic unrest followed by a G1 geomagnetic storm and sparked aurora around the poles. The data here were captured on my magnetometer buried in my backyard here in the UK.
I've presented the data in two formats: the first is the declination and the second the rate of change in declination. I use information from INTERMAGNET to 'calibrate' my charts.
Some of you might have been lucky enough to have seen the aurora for yourselves.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Stu.

Further update.....25th December.
More geomagnetic unrest leading into 25th December, as captured on my magnetometer here in the UK. Quieting down now, this was the third day in a row of notable geomagnetic activity.
Cheers
Stu.

Many thanks, Alexandra. Strange that you didn't receive any alerts. The storm produced some lovely aurora, so it wasn't insignificant.
