January 10 2023 Imaging Session.

Today I imaged from 16:44 until 17:31 UTC using my SMII90 and C102 refractors with the PGR Grasshopper and MacBook Pro using ASTRO IIDC with the processing/editing done in GIMP and Paint.net. The seeing was unsteady but not as bad as yesterday so my images turned out a little better. I still had trouble with clouds though. The temperature was 50F ( 10C ). I noticed some flaring during the session mainly with a new active region in the NE quadrant being brighter than the rest. GOES/SWL had an M1.3 flare occurring there at that time. It wasn't obvious though appearing as only a brightening of the plage.

Nice to see some disc shots today James :bow :hamster: I like the little hook shaped prom in the south, that's an interesting one. You get some beautiful clear faculae in the WL, is that with the 430nm filter or Continuum?

I was using the 540nm Baader. The seeing was all over the place and wouldn’t allow the use of the Edmund 430nm filter.

Warren. If you look closely some areas of the disc are sharp and others blurry. Waves of varying seeing made imaging at higher resolution difficult today.
