Saturday Sun 21st January 2023
Probably the last blue sky day for a while here, according to the weather forecast for next week, so I wanted to cram in some FDs across the spectrum and a couple of closer views of the main active regions before I lost the Sun and before they rotated off disk.
My usual setups and processing.

That closeup of AR3190 with those "tendrils" reaching into the umbra is jaw dropping! Great session!

WoW Stuart, you knocked it outta the park with these!! Excellent photography. Every one is perfection. I would pass out if my pictures turned out like these! They enable me to study AR13190 in all three lights. Thanks Stu!

Re: Saturday Sun 21st January 2023
Stuart,
In your white light ( 540nm? ) FD image I notice the umbra of the big spot of AR13190 has a fishlike shape. Your image is better than my visual view was today and shows the umbral shape more clearly than I could see it in my little Orion70. With yours it certainly more resembles a fish than an embryo and the light bridge is like a vertical stripe on the tail and the other light bridge still forms it's mouth. Hey, maybe it's an embryonic fish!!
My shape assessment is not very scientific but I would certainly pass the ink blot test, but what would it say about me!? ~Laughing~! I can imagine Alexandra's thoughts on this. :-)
That's a really nice image.
James
