Sunday Session H alpha 22-01-23

A choppy cloudy day in Brisbane today.I managed 3 animations, 2 were cut short by cloud cover, the last one ended my session as a bird pooped all over the main objective lens on my solar scope.

Here are my results.

120mm Skywatcher f/8 achromat in an open frame,a tilted 2" 7nm H-alpha fliter as a sub energy rejection filter, Baader TZ4 telecentric focal extender, Player One energy rejection filter,Combo QuarkChromosphere, modified PST etalon(from a Coronado PST), 2" 0.5 focal reducer, ASI174mm camera and finally a Black Shark magnetic cell phone cooler.


H alpha : ,Skywatcher 120mm F8 open frame refractor, a tilted 2" 7nm H-alpha filter as a sub energy rejection filter, Baader TZ4 telecentric focal extender, Player One energy rejection filter, Combo Quark Chromosphere, Naked PST etalon for double stacking, ASI74mm camera

Must have been a Sunbird...I had same on me in the observatory years ago but from a bat. Martin these animations are just fabulous. So much detail in each one but the 2nd one is an absolute knockout! You really have that scope, dare I say... singing like a bird!

These are very nice animations, Martin. I don't know whether I would have laughed or cussed giving that bird the middle finger! I certainly would have been unpleasantly surprised. :shock:
