British Astronomical Association Solar Section Meeting 2022

The kind sponsors of our forum are having a Solar festival of talks on the 18th February 2023. For anyone wishing to listen to this free event, which is open to all, here are a few details below, the times are in UTC

Programme
14:00–14:05 Opening Address – BAA President, David Arditti
14:05–14:30 Section Update – Lyn Smith
14:30–15:00 Cycle 25 Development & Expectations – Peter Meadows
15:15–15:45 Experiences Imaging with a Low-Cost Entrance Level Solar Telescope – Roger Samworth
15:45–16:15 Imaging Techniques and Making Solar Movies – Andy Devey
16:30–17:00 Geomagnetism & Cosmic Radiation by Paul Hearn / Solar flare monitoring using Sudden Ionospheric Disturbance by Andrew Thomas

It will be live streamed on Zoom, or for those in Australia where the time would be in the middle of the night it will be put on to the Youtube channel afterwards. Here are some useful links:

Andy is based near Almeria, I have had 3 superb holidays there (3 weeks in total). After each holiday you need another holiday to recover (sleep) as I was solar observing all day and deep sky imaging all night + lots of birdwatching, walking, eating and swimming in the pool. Pure pleasure!
