Sun FD in H-Alpha 20th of January 2023

Post by arnedanielsen »

Dear friends,

Finally managed to process some recordings from last week.

The sharpness and contrast is suffering from the low January Sun, but it was nice to finally have my first solar imaging session of the year!

Click on images to view them in full size on AstroBin.

FD image in H-Alpha using a Coronado 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ASI 178mm mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.

Yes, it wasn't long after that it lifted off. Unfortunately I had a very short imaging window which prevented me from doing any timelapse or other wavelenghts.

Arne

A great first light for the year Arne, the sun should start reappearing out of the trees and rooftops for me soon.
