January 30 2023. 8x32 SUNocular WL quickie.

Today I lucked out and observed for a very brief period through and between clouds in an almost overcast sky just after 16:30 UTC using the Lunt 8x32 SUNoculars. I could see three tiny spots on the Sun. AR13201 in the NW quadrant and AR13205 in the SW quadrant though tiny were not hard to see. AR13204 well west of AR13201 nearing the NW limb is harder to see but still could be seen with certainty as a single very tiny spot. Though I tried on two different occasions to see AR13206 in the SE quadrant but to no avail. The temperature is 56F ( 13.3C )

Well done for trying James

I think the large northern polar crown filament is on it's way back towards the disc again

I hope to look for the comet this evening, we have had endless cloudy skies but there are breaks in them this evening, fingers crossed

I hope the comet holds out so I can get a chance to see it. In two weeks I am moving my Sky-Watcher 304mm reflector to dad's since I now go down there on a bi-weekly basis. He has darker skies than I have here and that should give an excellent view of it.

Thanks Mark. It's very basic but better than none at all. Tomorrow is forecast to be a cloudout. The SUNoculars will be at the ready for a fleeting view.
