High FNo

Post by AndiesHandyHandies »

Hi

Good old AstroRod spotted a Scopetech 80mm F15 on ebay locally, and I was under some emotional pressure to buy it.

It is lovely and contrasty on the Moon. Pinpoint stars. Bit small aperture really for planets.

Need some clear skys to try it out.

Cheers. Andrew.

Hi

The former owner was on Stargazers lounge.

He chopped the tube to get a diagonal in. Carbon Fibre sides.

Its well made and the focusser is good. Rod could see some epoxy holding it together from the top.

Rod was waving a 2" focusser from one of his upgraded scopes about so that looks like it will go on.

25x with a 56/55mm 2".

Cheers. Andrew.

An 80mm long focal ratio achromat. Nice!! It might surprise you what it will do on planets in good seeing.
