Hi,
I came across the Eclipse sequencer (for Canon cameras, running Magic Lantern firmware):
https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/6674 ... sequencer/
Are there others as well.
Which one actually works ?
I was unable to find much from my survey of the 2017 Solar eclipse forum discussions.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
I can see it is easy to setup a sequence of captures using the [ADVANCED BRACKET] module in Magic Lantern (as used by Chris in 2017 Solar eclipse forum) for capture of the eclipse.
Maybe you need at least 2 camera setups. Not sure if it is really worth taking a solar telescope there. With 2 or more cameras you will need suitable zoom lenses ! I think it would be better to find a collaborator/partner so you do not have to do 2 or 3 camera setups.

Re: Eclipse sequencer or automated capture of corona
I wish a remote control application, for full control and sequence of Sony Alpha (A7s in my case).
I didn't find any.
Would someone know a solution, I'll be very happy.

Hi Alex,
I do not own Sony Alpha cameras, but
have you tried connecting your camera to
a PC application like Astrophotography tool?
There would be timing issues as well.
I own Canon but am NOT preparing for the
US eclipse this April 2024.

I use Set'n'c with my Canon DSLR.

Worked great on my last eclipse trip.

Eclipse Orchestrator from Moonglow Technologies is what I used for the 2017 Total and the 2023 Annular eclipse. It works great with select Canon and Nikon cameras.

For those looking for software to automate bracketed exposures of totality, you might consider 'Smart Shooter 5.' It is a clean, stable application available for Windows and Mac users, and which supports many Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fujifilm cameras. The basic version can control a single camera, but upgrades are available that can control many cameras at once. Certainly not a solution for every eclipse shooter's needs, but it might be a good fit for some posters here. Here is a link: https://tethertools.com/product/smart-shooter/
