Quick Friday view 17th March 2023
Yesterday was a really lucky Friday afternoon, after toiling for 9hrs a day since 2nd January analysing and processing hundreds of images at work, I finished the last one at 2.30pm in the afternoon. After a cheer, I literally ran away from work and got home by 3pm. By 3.30pm we had a flare alert on the phone, I looked up and saw one blue hole coming towards the Sun. I ran outside with the PST and managed to catch an image of the proms. They were incredible!! nothing left of the main flare but some beautiful loops were visible on the eastern limb. I enjoyed them for a moment and then it was all over, back to clouds. What a moment of joy and much better than Champagne for the celebration

Very nice full discs.

Prominences like this would deserve good champagne! Nice to see your results, just clouds here again.

Re: Quick Friday view 17th March 2023
Amazing work, Alexandra, really. My images were much much worse on the day, seeing was really bad. Not sure if one is allowed to cross post into other people's thread, would be educational to compare single stack in bad seeing vs double stack in good seeing...

Very nice, indeed, Alexandra. I’m so happy for you that you got to see and image the Sun after your hard slog at work. Beautiful results.

Alexandra,
I was home on Slooh, KSO and GONG when You took these!! We were viewing them at the same time! I am glad you lucked out. I was under clouds and could not use my own equipment.
Hat's off to you. These are beautiful, especially in color!!
