March 15th Ha Session

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

I managed to have my first solar session in over two weeks this past Wednesday and was away the balance of the week for work which delayed processing and posting. I processed the images while I was boiling sap at the bush yesterday to get caught up ;) This was a short session over lunch and not a lot of time to use more that the Lunt LS80T scope to image. First views at the eyepiece showed some nice activity with many filaments/AR's and and couple of impressive proms as well.

The first image is a full disk composite taken with the ASI1600MM camera+1.6x barlow through he DS Lunt LS80T/LS75FHa/B1800HJa solar scope:

With limited time, I switched to the ASI174MM camera and 3x telextender to image in slightly higher resolution, and was able to assemble mosaics of the norther and southern disk:

25x_LS80T_LS75_South.jpg
25x_LS80T_LS75_South.jpg (474.99 KiB) Viewed 287 times
These last images are the larger proms that were found along the western limb:

25x_LS80T_LS75_140057_SW.jpg (205.07 KiB) Viewed 287 times
I would have like to spend more time to image in greater detail but I was glad that I took the time to get these.

Very nice discs and detailed pictures of proms.

Brian. Your full disk composite is masterful. Well done.
How many panels were used?

Kevin and David...

Thanks for your feedback...very much appreciated :bow

David, the image is a composite of separate full disk and limb exposures but not a mosaic of multiple frames. Not as masterful as it may seem, but thanks ;)
