Images across the spectrum 22nd March 2023
Unexpectedly the sky was blue this morning, until mid-morning anyhow, giving me the opportunity to capture some rays across the spectrum at various image scales. The main active regions are looking superb. It's just a pity the seeing wasn't ideal...again
Along with the main events, I was intrigued with a large prominence in the north, either emerging from a magnetically disturbed region at the end of it, or dissolving into it.
I could see one main prom (in the south) and a few minor ones.
Anyhow, here are the images:

A really nice collection of photos. A joy to behold.
I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Hard to move to the next photo as each has so many nice details to study on. Fantastic captures Stu!

Lots of lovely detail in all those images Stu!
We think we'd be quite happy to settle for your "not ideal" seeing conditions

Re: Images across the spectrum 22nd March 2023
Stu,
You usually win me with your CaK imagery but here your white light images rule!! SDO has nothing on you!! What scope did you use for the closeups? The detail in the spots is impressive and the granules show easily. Did you use a 540nm filter?
I had good seeing today during my visual session but my views certainly fell short of these.
Cudos!!
James

Thank you
I used my Teknosky 125 with 2.5x and 5x Powermates and Basler acA2440-75 um and 1920-155 um cameras and a Lacerta solar wedge fitted with a 430nm filter (standard ND filters removed) and with a UV/IR filter on its nose. The key is the very short exposure times of around 50-150 microseconds to help freeze the blurring effects of seeing.

Re: Images across the spectrum 22nd March 2023
Stu,
That 125 did really well. We use Basler cameras at work in our laser printers which print the part numbers on our LED circuit boards. The Basler cameras see the feducial marks showing the computer the boards position in the printer. The ones we have in the machine is about the size of a PGR flea.
