Images from 3/20/2023 and my first CaK Animation
I really like how masking down the Orion ED80T to 40mm helps the sharpness and contrast in CaK so I'm having a professional mask 3D printed which I hope to have next week (which isn't a problem since I don't see a chance for sun until next week sometime anyway!) So I tried my first CaK animation and actually dis catch some subtle activity near the large spot in AR3256. It may be a bit of flaring or an eruptive surge but it's pretty subtle. Seeing when Kaput near the end and lost a lot of contrast and sharpness as the sun rose higher into the sky. It was pretty cold too so not sure if the CaK BF is affected similarly to the Ha or not, but the effect certainly appears the same. Ha shot with Lunt LS60T DS and all images with the ASI174MM

Superb.
I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Very nice, Warren. I don’t see many people do CaK animations here.
And that’s a beautiful colorized CaK full disc! Thank you. :-)

Re: Images from 3/20/2023 and my first CaK Animation
Thanks Martin, Alexandra and Franco! I hadn’t tried CaK before for an animation since the closeup images were never satisfactory. Masking the scope down helps a lot with the details.
