a very faint prominence with the spectro (may 13th)

Post by ChrisHalpha2017 »

Hello (again) :)

In the afternoon we were blessed (in Paris) to have a nice afternoon with lots of nice sunny clear sky between some clouds.... And there was nothing crazy but a very nice prominence....but soooooo faint that even GONG hardly shows it with the SHG.....

I really tried my best as it was so fine and weak. I even had (in a last resort) to use the strait slit with the 2400 lines /mm. I usually need a 1200 or even the 600 !! I only use the 1800 lines when i want to see the spicules or the doppler effect to detect flares...

anyway here are the best i could get with the wide slit spectroscope...
