12th May, Mac 8", Ha HR AR & Loop)

Post by Valtori »

Hello Everybody!!

On the 12th of May in 17:00 local time I managed to catch some decent seeing for Ha imaging in High Resolution with my Mac Alter 8".

After the session, already during processing, I discovered a loop. No choice to restart session to pay more attention to loop. :(
So I present what I managed to get: image with and without a loop for a better picture of the active area.

Aries ERF, Mac Alter 8", Quark Chr., Red.0.5, ASI174, FC, AS!3, AI, PS

Thank you for looking!! :)

Val

This is fantastic set of detailed pictures. Perfect work.

The time difference between shots 2 & 3 is 10 minutes. So surge appeared during this time.

Excellent imaging with the quark. Do you use a narrow band pass filter after the quark to improve contrast ? I was reading your setup, and you write about red 0.5 before the asi174

What kind of reducer do you use Val ? With mine, a 31.8 diameter 0.5 x reducer, I get a lot of vignetting with the asi 174, when trying to reduce the cone of light from a 5x televue barlow and daystar combo. On the other hand when I use the smaller asi 120 sensor I have no troubles

I use TS 1,25" Focal Reducer.
Vignetting has to be dealt with...

I use the same from TS probably. It screws directly on the camera nose
