Was out trying to locate this year's nest when I found this fella rummaging around the various piles of wood scattered around the garden.

Didn't fancy getting within three inches with the new macro lens so used the 150-600mm at a sensible distance ... ;)

Very nice shooting. Insects are very much like inhabitants of an alien world up close.
