Solar prominence time lapse from last december

Post by Sergio Alessandrelli »

HI to all

I've just posted on astrobin.com a prominence time lapse (68') from the last December 2022.
Sun was low but seeing a little better than usual.
Here the link to my astrobin, file are bit big...
I used my FLT132 APO, with a full aperture D-ERF and a Solarspectrum 0.5A and a TZ4 lens.

Fantastic animation.

Sergio,
Absolutely beautiful work! The plasma falls from the prominence like rain does from a thundercloud. Only a superb animation like yours shows this like no still image can.

Two thumbs up!! :bow

James

P.S. Congrats on the SPOD. Certainly worthy!!

Thanks 😉
It’s really incredible how fast move plasma gas. Prominenences seems stationary but incredible quantities of materia are moving!
